| Crystal Cruises is owned by NYK (Nippon Yusen Kaisha) Line, a Japanese company that was created in 1885. NYK Line is now the largest shipping company in the world, operating over 800 ships. NYK created Crystal Cruises in 1988. Crystal Harmony, which launched in 1990 and is now retired (as of 2005), was the first Crystal cruise ship. Today, Crystal Cruises' fleet is made up of two luxurious vessels, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. Crystal Cruises is one of the world leaders in upscale luxury cruising. Their ships are beautiful and their food, service, and staff are top-notch. Compared to their competition (in the luxury cruising segment) Crystal's ships are fairly large. Year after year, Crystal Cruises wins awards from various magazines and organizations. Over the years Crystal has been an industry leader in terms of offering the latest innovations to its guests. For example, Crystal was one of the first cruise lines to offer optional specialty restaurants, internet cafes, and onboard learning seminars. |

| Crystal's cruise ships travel all around the world. A typical Crystal cruise is at least 11 to 15 days in length; however, Crystal does offer some 7 day cruises as well. Crystal cruise destinations include Africa, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, the Caribbean, Canada/New England, the Mediterranean, the Mexican Riviera, Northern Europe, the Panama Canal, South America, the South Pacific, Transatlantic, and Transpacific cruises. During 2011, Crystal Serenity will be doing an exciting 110-night World Cruise itinerary (available in shorter segments). The initial embarkation port is Los Angeles, California (on January 17), and the final port is Dover (for London), England (on May 8). Among the highlighted ports of call are Cape Town, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney, Auckland and Papeete. |

| The Crystal cruise ships are very spacious. They feature high space-per guest and staff-to-staff ratios, ensuring that you will be properly taken care of at any moment you may need something, and that you will not feel crowded during your cruise. This allows Crystal to compete with their competitors' smaller luxury cruise ships. Onboard the Crystal ships you will have lots of options, as far as activities go. There is a casino to try your luck in, a beauty salon, a library, a pool, hot tubs, bars & lounges, a main showroom, dance lessons, art classes (offered on sea days), and much more. Guests staying in categories PH, PS and CP will have a personal butler to assist them during their cruise. The Creative Learning Institute is an excellent enrichment program that Crystal Cruises has created onboard each of their ships. Available on select sailings are seminars and/or lessons on a wide range of topics, such as Yamaha piano lessons, Pepperdine University Business Seminars and the Society of Wine Educators. Crystal's ships offer excellent (Feng Shui-inspired) spas, with superior services available to their guests. In fact, the readers of Condé Nast Traveler have named Crystal Cruises as having the number one cruise line spa (Reader's Poll, 2007). Crystal Cruises offers an onboard service known as Ambassador Hosts. The Ambassador Hosts are carefully screened gentlemen that are well traveled and are very good ballroom dancers. They serve as optional company for women that are traveling onboard the Crystal ships. Passengers tend to dress up during the majority of a Crystal cruise, especially at night. Be sure to bring your best threads for formal nights. During the day passengers tend to dress in a casual, but elegant, fashion. Special onboard features that Crystal Cruises makes available to their guests include complimentary bottled water, soft drinks and specialty coffees. On longer Crystal Cruises you will notice an older crowd, consisting of many senior citizens. However, on shorter cruises you will notice a broad range of guests (age-wise). About 85% of the passengers onboard a Crystal cruise are from the US or Canada, while the other 15% are international travelers. |
