Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) was formed as a result of the 1992 merger of Radisson Cruises and Seven Seas Cruises. Regent was once a part of Carlson Hospitality Worldwide of Carlson Companies, Inc. Up until 2006, this cruise line was known as Radisson Seven Seas Cruises. The name change reflected then-parent company Carlson's desire to associate the cruise line with their upscale Regent Hotel chain. In February of 2008, RSSC's parent company became Prestige Cruise Holdings (PCH), a subsidiary of Apollo Management, L.P. PCH is also the parent company of Oceania Cruises.
